I’m always looking for a dairy-free coffee to grab on the go.
Something I can pop in my handbag and open up on the train.
The supermarket shelves are filled with lots of cold brew and iced coffees options. There are never many dairy-free options though. Well, that was the case ’til recently. I’m delighted that Sainsbury’s are now stocking Minor Figures.
Minor Figures bridge the gap between long-life iced coffee and expensive cold brew. Their aim is to make the cold brew world much more accessible and affordable. I personally think their USP is that their coffees are all free from sugar, dairy and are vegan-friendly.
They use oat milk in their latte and mocha which also adds a natural sweetness to the coffee.
This is the can for you if you like your coffee strong.
It’s smooth to drink with a very slight bitter aftertaste. It’s perfect for when you’re on the go but also works well over ice.
Nitro Cold Brew Mocha
Mocha isn’t usually my go to choice but when it comes to Minor Figures I think it might just be my favourite.
It has a lovely strong smell of chocolate when you open the can. The balance of coffee and chocolate is well balanced and because there’s no added sugar it’s not too sweet.
Nitro Cold Brew Latte
This is a smooth and creamy coffee. It goes down very easily and the balance between oat milk and coffee is just right.
I’m so pleased that there are more and more dairy-free options popping up in the supermarkets and local shops.
You should be able to find Minor Figures in your local Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Whole Foods or lots of smaller independent businesses. If you’re based in Sheffield head over to Gaard on Kelham Island (location: 22 Burton Rd, Sheffield S3 8BX).
