Organic | Dairy Free | Gluten Free | Soya Free
When you first become dairy free (through choice or necessity) there are a few things that I find people really miss; a good cup of English breakfast tea, cheese and chocolate. Luckily there are lots of alternatives for these things and it’s just about finding the ones you like the best.
So, in the name of research I decided I needed to try more from the Booja Booja range. Okay, not just for research but because their truffles are just so good.
I really like these cute little packs of Booja Booja truffles. There are 2 in each pack and they’re a little more affordable than buying a full box. I also think they’re perfect for sharing. Booja Booja truffles are seriously moreish and I could quite easily disappear a full box.
I grabbed a couple of packs of the truffles in my recent Whole Foods visit. I always like to go into Whole Foods and stock up, they have such a fantastic selection of dairy and gluten free food that I can’t get hold of when I’m in Sheffield.
The Almond & Salted Caramel flavour was totally new to me. I’d only tried the original and the Hazelnut Crunch Truffles before. I think Almond & Salted Caramel are my favourite flavour yet. Don’t hold me to that though, there are still a few flavours I haven’t had the chance to try.
These truffles are a real winner for anyone who is a fan of a sweet and savoury combo. The truffles are chewy when you first bite into them but delightfully gooey on the inside. They go perfectly with a cup of tea or coffee. The rich taste of caramel is the first you notice when you bite into the truffle. As it melts in your mouth it’s quickly followed by a subtle saltiness and just a slight hint of almond.
If you’re looking to buy a gift for a dairy free friend then I highly recommend these truffles.
