Dairy Free Daisy Podcast Episode 9 – Dairy Free News – April 2022

Episode 9 of the Dairy Free Daisy podcast is ready to listen to. Actually, it’s been ready for over a week now but I fell behind with writing up my podcast summary posts.

This episode is all about the latest dairy free launches that caught my eye in April. This time there’s more of a focus on savoury foods rather than the usual sweet treats.

Dairy Free News – April 2022

At the start of the podcast we had a brief chat about Easter, reduced dairy free Easter eggs and the delicious Booja Booja truffles.

Yogan Creamery: Alternatives to cheese with an almond base which you can buy over on The Vegan Kind. I’m intrigued to try their alternative to cottage cheese and soft cheese.

Galaxy Vegan Smooth White Chocolate – A new launch from Galaxy to go alongside their vegan Topic and Bounty options.

Topic Vegan Fruit & Nut – The classic Topic just has nuts in but this new options is a fruit and nut combo. I really hope this will be good.

My Sweet Chickpea These are delicious roasted chickpea covered in chocolate and a crisp coating. There are 6 flavours to pick from; coconut, cappuccino, dark, tiramisu, cinnamon, banana cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake.

I’ve tried the cappuccino ones which I love and can’t wait to try more flavours. They’re currently £1 at ASDA.

Kirsty’s – Their latest launch is a Fish & Veg pie. You can find it at Sainsbury’s at the moment.

Primula Perfectly Plant Cheese – Primula make long-life spreadable cheese and have recently launched their first plant-based option.

I’m yet to spot this in any of the supermarkets but I’ll be keeping an eye out.

Giant Prawn Cocktail Wotsits – I LOVE the texture of these, they’re just so moreish.

Nooj Foods – This is a new brand which I am very intrigued by. They make almond and cashew pastes which you can then use to make milk, mayo, butter and within lots of other cooking and baking. I can’t wait to give the brand a try.

Wagamama Vegan Katsu Mayo – Vegan mayo with soy sauce, ginger and spices.

Wagamama Vegan Firecracker Mayo – This is a spicy vegan mayo with red pepper, garlic and ginger.
